Big Girl Steps!

Well, I decided no pics for this post (obviously). Yesterday we were told by her day school that Ava was using the potty like the big kids. So to reinforce this, yesterday we went to BabysRUs and let her pick out her potty. I put a couple of different colors on the floor. She immediately sat down on the hot pink one and said, "poo-poo". So I assume that's the one she wanted. We also picked up a big girl toothbrush!

After dinner, she said "Poo Poo!" and we went walked to the potty and I put her on it. She was unsure and wanted to get off of it but I encouraged her to stay the course! Then she went! I am so proud of and excited for her! Later she also let me brush her teeth with the big girl brush and spit the toothpaste into the sink. Very proud of her!

Hangin with Dylan

We went to Dylan's house to hang out after our Choo Choo train ride in the mountains. There we raced n his cars and just hung out. I love his trike!
Perched with the women.

So proud to climb the couch and then into the window sill all by herself!

Choo-Choo

Today we went to hunt down a good hiking trail. There are tons of places but we saw one up on a ridge close to Oakland that we wanted to see. We didn't exactly get there. Instead we stumbled upon a random train track on top of the mountain. We curved the hike and went for the steam engine. Ava loved it! It was a huge and long track.

Green Thumbs!

Hi! Ready to help Daddy in the Garden! We have tomatos, lettuce, cilantro, roses, strawberries, bell peppers, and carrots.

Daddy needs me to copy what he's doing and give helpful suggestions.

Okay, I'm hot and hungry and thirsty.

Alright, time for corndogs and grapes!

All smiles for miles.

We Went to Prison!

On April 18th we went to Alcatraz! It was a beautiful foggy morning in San Fran Bay. Ava absolutely loved it! She enjoyed the boat ride and loved the jail cells. It was quite an adventure for her.
Running free in the library.
The views from Alcatraz are priceless.

This is "the hole". A group of cells that when the doors close, allows very little light. Ava loved it.

Breaking free- they'll never catch me!

Ready for my close up! Ava was the entertainment on the 10 min boat ride.

The rusty crusty water tower at Alcatraz, totally nasty.

Play Date with Dylan

So Dylan is Ava's handsome pal here in California. He is so cute and she loves seeing him. We met up at a nice park here in the area and let the kids run loose.
So I helped Ava a bit but she's a pretty good climber.

They played a game of chase/soccer.

Exploring San Francisco more....

We went to Alamo Square in San Francisco. This is the famous place where the Full House intro was filmed. Ava loved it!
She even stole a soccer ball from some guys kicking it around. She was on the loose!
When she got home she couldn't wait to call someone and tell them about it.

Then we relaxed on the couch and ate some "nommy".

Easter Eggs and Park Time

Easter was so fun! Ava got sidewalk chalk from E.B. and enjoyed decorating our patio with it. We also spent some time hunting for Easter eggs and playing at the play ground.
The artist at work
Ava moves up to the Big Girl swing!

Now, where are these eggs everyone keeps talking about........
I found one!

I promise she loves the slide. We didn't force her. She normally smiles the whole way.

Going for a hike!

Well things certainly have been busy around here. We recently went on a hike at an area called Lime Ridge. We are taking every opportunity we can to see the beautiful California scenery. Getting ready for the hike, Ava made sure she had the essentials, "Tato", "Pablo", and her juice cup.

Yeah! Can you believe it? A new background. Thanks to our Aussie Pal Melisa, I learned the art of blog backgrounds. Now if i could only get some new pics up.
