Newer house pics! So exciting!

So here are a few house update pics. We are still missing the shutters but they'll come soon. We are scheduled to close this Friday!!!!

New Ava Pics

These are just random pics from June and July from around the house. Beating the heat in Alabama can be tough. So it's pools and sprinklers for everyone! However, I don't have any pool pics. :) They aren't in order at all but I think I'm getting the stomach bug Ava had earlier this week and do not have enough time to arrange.

Granite Day!

So I promise that once the house is complete, I will return to blogging about our family and post pictures of Little Ava. But for now.....

It's Granite DAY!!!!!! We got our countertops put in today and I was so nervous about the color but I think it looks great. We also now have light fixtures and ceiling fans and electrical sockets and the flooring in our upstairs baths and the laundry room. See pics below:

The Gnomes

So D.R. Horton does not use people to do their work on houses. I am 98% sure that they use Gnomes. You will never see them, you will never hear them, they show up at odd hours and do a task and then scram as quickly and mysteriously as they came.

After showing up this morning to find our garage door attached, I decided to show back up in the afternoon to put my Gnome theory to the test. I was not disappointed!

No one was there. Nowhere in sight. Just gnome droppings in the form of soda cans and the usual trash. Also one little gnome left the garage door open, so I would be sure to noticed they had come!

They came and put up the molding around the fireplace and are now gone. When we'll see evidence of their work? Who knows. Where they scurry off to? Who knows. Will our house ever get completed? Who knows.

Mini House Update

So, Paul and I went by the house yesterday, Sunday July 5th to measure for furniture. And much to our suprise all the walls and trim were painted! Yeah!

Then today, Monday, July 6th, I ran over to check for open windows (because it's gonna rain today). And much to my surprise, we have a garage door! It's not painted yet but it's up! Yeah!

And kudos to the builder folks, because almost all the window were closed! Yeah!

And I talked to the builder this morning and our projected close date is July 24th. Yeah!

Our House Update

So her are some house pics in totally random order. I may come back and update later. Just wanted to show some progress to the grandparents and those who may be following.
All 4 bedrooms are upstairs. So is the laundry room. Downstairs has large family room adjoining the kitchen and eating area, a formal dining room and formal living room/waste of space, and a 1/2 bath. Ava will have a very large flat yard to play in and we are totally stoked! Update more later.
Oh and teh first pic is Ava's bedroom with a little playroom that comes off the front of her room!!
